Extracurricular Partners
In addition to the ECE’s regular aftercare program, here are some fun extracurricular activities for your child to explore.
Children stay in aftercare with us until their class time, and then they are returned to aftercare once class is finished if they are enrolled in our aftercare program (if not, parents pick them up once class is finished).
These programs are all optional and all aligned with our values and philosophy!

Young Stewards
with Adam the Bug Guy
The Winter 2026 session of Young Stewards (aka 'Bug Class') begins the week of January 12, and it's going to be an exciting 10 classes. In addition to the projects we have planned such as paper making and preserving samples in resin, this session will feature a legacy project at SIJCC.
Students who register with Young Stewards will have a hand in converting a section of the school grounds into a permanent native pollinator garden and enduring beautification project. In the process, students will get firsthand experience in all the steps necessary to turn a piece of barren land into a vibrant piece of wilderness.

CLASS COSTS: $350 per 10-class session.
TO SIGN UP: Email instructor Adam Lazarus at adamthebugguy@gmail.com for final steps to secure a place for your kid in this class. COST is $350 per 10-class session. This includes copious supplies and projects that your kid takes home. That said, money should never be a barrier to the natural world. Email Adam for details. Limit 10 students per class.

Silver Lake Ballet School
with Ms. Helen 3.5+
We dance with props and music, exploring creativity, motor movement, leaps and twirls, stretches, and contractions, and with an introduction to basic ballet positions and steps in a fun, exciting environment.

Sweet Potato Jam:
Music Makers 3.5+
A playful, skill-building music program where preschoolers learn real ukulele basics, sing, move, play musical games, and create music-inspired art projects. Classes encourage rhythm, melody, listening skills, and confidence.

Developed by Leah Paul, the heart of Sweet Potato Music is her library of original songs that both delight and enrich children and parents alike.
Every Sweet Potato Music song is crafted to engage children actively and passively with musical skills and developmental milestones baked in, setting the stage for a life of music loving and the joy, confidence, and cognitive benefits that learning music brings to a child.
Yoga Enrichment Classes
with Neely Tanner
Breathing, balancing, and having fun are all things we love, and we love being able to offer these special sessions for those of our potty trained friends who have left their naps behind! The ECE is happy to partner with Keep Shining Kids Yoga instructor Neely Tanner! If your child was an Eagle in camp they had Neely twice a week!
